How It Began
I started the shop in 1969. I was tooling bracelets, belts, wallets, and purses. Then, when I moved to Colorado for awhile,in 1973, I left the tools behind. I spent the next 6 years raising my son and daughter. Moving back home to Michigan, in 1979, I began to pick up the tools and start again. This time, I began sewing clothes with leather and suede. Then, in 1997, I was working for Tandy Leather in Madison Heights, Michigan. I took full advantage of all the classes that were offered. I even took the course called " Tandy Leather College". I began to become very "obsessed" with the tooling and it has all multiplied from there.

This is The Mascot Of My Leather Shop
The Koala Bear is made out of a silver mink stole someone gave me. I make teddy bears out of old mink, rabbit, fox and fake fur. Seemed like a natural progression as I went from alterations/tailoring to the leather work. This way, a coat or stole can be passed on to more than one sibling.

The Upholstery Part of The Shop
The upholstery side began in 1980 when a friend needed her couch redone after a run in with a misbehaving child with a pair of scissors. I found some excellent books and followed the advice and the new phase began. I do couches, love seats, chairs, car seats and interiors, window seats, headboards, valances, pool table restoration and much more. There will be a photo page installed soon with before and after pictures of some of the more interesting projects. It will show you how the pieces look when they get to me and when they leave.
