Here Are Some More After Photos Of Some Of The Latest Upholstery Projects I Have Been Working On

These have been some of my most challenging and fun projects.  I have done seats for an airplane, some boat reupholstering, and I am tackling a paint job on a Pontoon lid which is fiberglass and aluminum.

The above chair is a cute Lady's chair. It has 3 sides of fabric that show. Two on the back and 1 on the seat. One has to match the stripes, both to the front of the back and the back of the back to the seat. I used double piping around the seat and the front of the back. The piping can be done on a bias cut since that makes a better circle, but is not necessary. I did the piping straight on and found out that it still made the circle, but it showed more of the stripes and even matched in some spots. I found that the double piping was easier than I had thought it would be. A fun project. Cost for the reupholster--$55.00

The chair below is the after picture of a tapestry seated chair whose seat had fallen apart.

The needlepoint was taken from the original seat and cut to fit the new seat. That way all the ripped part was removed. It was a friend's Mother's chair. Cost--$150.00 because back was replaced at the same time.

This is a boat seat reupholstery. All done in white vinyl. Each piece or cushion in the seat is removable for drying. The seat was 1 of a pair that were part of a total boat redo.

The seat is a plastic hard molded seat. The pads are attached by velcro strips stapled to seat and sewn to the separate cushions. The 2 seats went with an engine cover and a back flat seat. Total cost was $500.00 Seats by themselves start at $50.00- $100.00, depending on the difficulty or the simplicity of the design and the seat itself.

Here is the after picture of the airplane seats that I did so the client could sell the plane. The colors were chosen to match his color scheme on his plane.

The seats were a foam base and hog ring held, no staples needed. Done just like car seats. Used vinyl from Rochford Supply. I really like the durability of their vinyl. Also they have great color choices. Seats start at $50.00 and go up from there--depending on the design and the difficulty of the job. These seats cost $75.00 each.

This is a living room bay window area for which I did the swags, jabots, to coordinate with the current window treatments that the client had attempted. I replaced the 2 small  window treatments. The center window did not have its new treatment installed when this picture was taken.

Below is a cute little antique "Telephone" chair.

This little chair has been sewn in a silk-like polyester fabric that has cute little bumblebees on it. It came in various background colors and the one I used is still Available at some JoAnn Fabrics.  It also has coordinating gimp trim around the back and the seat. The design is in keeping with the age of the chair.     The cost for this job   $45.00

The swags and jabots are held up to the wall on a 2" x 8"plank. It is screwed into the wall with screws. I do not use glue because then it would be too hard for the client to remove it without damaging her wall. It was removed recently as the client was redecorating again. Only had to fill in 8 minor holes. The 3 Roman Shades will be removed later for the replacement blinds after the room is painted. Cost of the whole window set-up was $ 950.00 which included installation and then removal.

The job below was a 6 piece living room sectional set. It had been done in a gray & black design, but the client's dog had ruined the upholstery. It really needed rescue.

Here is a set of dining room chairs that needed my help in the worst way

The chairs were in very sad shape. I put the before and after pictures on the next page, but I thought the after picture would be perfect on this page. Cost $75.00 per chair because of the 3 sides that were done and the matching of the print so all 3 sides were uniform

The client chose a black on black stripe for the sectional. It was not easy keeping the stripes going the right way so that when it was all put together, it looked correct. These are only 2 pieces of it. The whole job cost was $1500.00 The largest piece was the lounge part. I also added new stuffing and some new foam.

Here is a button chair. It is 1 of a pair. It was a green fabric and the client chose gold which looks really elegant.

Here is a bench for a customer. It went from a white silk fabric with stars to a red print fabric with a feel of velvet.

Since the fabric is a print, one must be very careful to keep the nap running the same way as well as the print laying the same. This bench came out beautifully and now resides in a neat home on a hilltop. Cost to the customer  $50.00

This chair was built a bit differently than I have been used to. The back was attached to a board, the buttons went through the board and there was a solid back to the back. I only had 2 places to upholster, not the usual 3. The pleating takes some practice, but it came out lovely. Cost to the customer $75.00 each.

This purple chair is 1 of a pair that I did for a customer. I love doing button back  chairs. This one had a very easy pattern to put together and the fabric was very nice to work with.

My friend's Valentine Room

My friend was renovating her home and wanted a "Valentine" Feel to her bedroom. I did the window sheers, velvet valances, the velvet hanging edges on the bed, the custom designed headboard, the comforter, and the red couch. The whole job was fun and came out beautifully. Total cost   $3500.00

This chair was a joy to do. The fabric was a very nice weight to work with. A friend had even made a Renaisance costume out of the fabric. There is no separate cushion so I added extra padding and made sure all springs were fastened. Cost to customer $250.00

Here are 2 Ice Cream Parlor Style chairs.  Very cute in a backyard or porch area. The picture shown is of the seat of the chair so that the detail of the print shows up clearly.

Below is a chair that was reupholstered in a bright print. The unique thing about this chair are the nails that decorate the edges of the back and the front piece by the arms.

My client had a dog and kids that had destroyed her chair so she had me redo it in the print that you see.  Since she liked the nails that were on the old upholstery, I purchased some new ones that would go even better on the new material. I also replaced stained foam, padding and retied the springs. Total cost  $400.00

They are done in a really cute motorcycle tapestry so I just included the seat. The chairs are dark green wrought iron. Comes with a small table-also green. The seats are really sturdy and since the fabric is no longer made, the chairs are now very unique. Total cost $100.00 which includes the material cost. If one provides their own material, then the cost would be $ 30.00 per chair.

There will be more pictures on the next page of the items shown above. I will include some projects that are still in the works, some that are done but never photographed, and others that I am really proud to have worked on.  Hope you enjoy.
